When you buy CrossWorks you have one year of support and maintenance bundled with the purchase. During that time we will support you at the helpdesk and any updates and support packages that we publish in that year will be available to you without charge. Subquently you can purchase software assurance which gives you access to our helpdesk and support, and you will receive all updates and support packages without charge during your support contract. Alternatively you can stick with the versions of software you have and choose to renew support and maintenance when you require it which will be at a higher price. Note that we publish all previous releases of CrossWorks and support packages on our website.
We found that our previous model based on major version upgrades produced the inequality that new customers were subsidising the support and maintenance for existing customers. We could have chosen to produce major version releases every two years but have decided that this approach better reflects the effort we put in to support and maintenance of CrossWorks and the support packages.
