MSP430 CPU support, or DIY CPU support

Hi All,

I've noticed the MSP430 Crossworks CPU support package is a little behind in providing baked in support for some of the latest MSP430 CPU's, eg MSP430FR2476,

Is there a guide on using crossworks msp430 for cpu's NOT explicitly supported in the current CPU support package?

or adding/patching the current MSP430 CPU support package ?

I guess I could use my own memory linker description file, and try to find another older CPU with a similar register/feature set..
