ST-LINK/V2-A

I am using the STM32F4DISCOVERY for some projects but it is not in production anymore (atleast farnell and mouser say the production stoppen st still calls it active).

I ordered a replacement STM32F407G-DISC1 (farnell 2506840) which seems to be the same but has a different programmer installed the ST-LINK/V2-A (mbed enabled). This does not seem to work with crossstudio. I still  have an old version 2.3 installed.

Can I use this programmer in crossstudio with some work around?

Is this new programmer available in newer versions of crossstudio? I can not find it the change documents.
