Go To Definition issue...

I love to support good ideas in the engineering community...But honestly, how could you ship a product without the 'go to definition' function working? It is not only a bad idea, but gives a bit of a sour taste to be honest especially that this is in trial for 30 days...You are kinda charging people for an alpha at most a beta! I have also noticed that you barely answer people's questions on this support forum! Is this one of those under budgeted companies where the owner is also the developer? Cause that would really be disappointing long term...Even eclipse has a go to definition function that works and eclipse sucks! Beyond that every sample project I have downloaded from your links crashes with library issues...Such as the TNK Fifo examples, etc. I'm not quite sure what is going on, but can't even find these libs...Not sure where they are hidden...My recommendations would be put up some youtube links with some tutorials or setup a real tutorial page. At this point I'm kinda scratching my head, but I do want this to be a success...I would support it if you support it properly! ;)

It is working. There is a V3 distribution with a much better Go To Definition.

The 30 day evaluation means that you get to see what our product has, without limitation. If you want extra time, we grant it. If you don't like what you see, you don't purchase.

That is a User Forum. If you have a problem, you can raise it there, but don't expect us to monitor that forum. That forum is for Users to discuss CrossWorks and for those that are not in support, having elected to not purchase Software Assurance. This is described in the license types.

The owners are indeed also the developers. You're talking to them.

All projects and examples that ship with CrossWorks are tested before distribution. If you are having a problem, you simply ask us. I have no idea what a TNK FIFO is. If you are talking about something in TNKernel, that is nothing to do with Rowley Associates, it's some kernel provided for free by somebody else and they provide project files -- the quality of those project files is nothing to do with us, and they are not policed by us.

This has already been discussed internally between us.

We do our best to support CrossWorks. If you think our support is shoddy, then that's unfortunate, and you should find another vendor that fits your expectations from day zero.

Good answers! Just what I was looking for...I'm a fan...;) I'll pick up
version 3.0 and then purchase! Thanks, Mario

I have to agree, the "Go To Definition" function is precisely useless, other than for locking up your IDE for 30-60 seconds while it does not find anything. It is extraordinarily annoying! It causes me to appreciate Eclipse that much more each and every time I mistakenly expect it to find something with this useless function, which is probably 20 times a day minimum.

Generally, I am searching for a C++ method. My solutions are generally about %75 C++, and I have several which contain 15-20 project libraries. Code::Blocks and Eclipse can perform the same "Go To Definition" no problem. It would not be so bad except for that fact that the IDE is completely locked up while not finding anything. Thank you so much for the search timer in 3.6.3.2016022201.27078, so I can now know precisely how much time per day that I spend twiddling my thumbs while not finding anything....
