Specifying assembler options?

Does anyone know the correct way to specify assembler arguments in the CrossWorks 'additional assembler options' property editor ? Whatever I try, the required --defsym COMPILE_ARM=1 is being rejected by as with as: unrecognized option `--defsym COMPILE_ARM=1'.

  FWIW setting these options (one per line) and using the 'assembler options from file' appears to work correctly. The filename property needs a properly qualified path to the optiosn text file.
