Well, that will teach me for not being precise.

Thanks for the link, but I'm a windows (Hmmm) user. Tried to manipulate the filename/link to get the win version, without joy.

So its  Windows Crossworks for ARM V3.0 i'm after.

    cheers

Well I suppose the only request left is to ask what the MacOS filename might be? :)

I'm a hobbyist still trying to find a good ARM IDE to run under OSX, and while $150 for a personal license is a great deal I would still love to check the nightly to see if there is anything worth waiting for (since I presume upgrading versions will be another $150) :D

Heh. I was looking for a nightly download for OS X, as well. Actually tried various possible filenames in the link, but no luck.

BTW, can you easily revert back to your paid CrossWorks version after trying out the nightly?

    regards,

    MAJ

Nice! Is there a roadmap or a list of features planned for version 3?

We don't push the nightlies of V3 for OS X to the web.  If you ask nicely, I could do that for you, but as always, it's unreleased and feedback is welcome.

    Big ticket items in CrossStudio:

    • New, highly accurate, source indexer.
    • Source indexer is configurable and runs in parallel, you control how many threads get started to index your project.
    • "Guess what I'm typing" code completion.
    • Find References, to pinpoint uses of symbols in a solution.
Technology items, not inherently linked to V3:
    • Expansion of CTL with additional "extras" package.
    • Networking stack (paid-for option, probably, installable evals from Package Manager)
    • Mass storage (as above)
    • Device library, full source code, with abstract I2C, SPI, UART drivers.
    • Sensor library building on the above, full source code, for accelerometers, gyros, IMUs, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, color sensors, light sensors, and lots of other devices, all written and tested.
    • AHRS library building on Sensor library for sensor fusion.
    • Micro graphics library, full source code, that builds on the device library, supports a wide range of graphics controllers interfaced by parallel bus, I2C, SPI, and supports LCD and OLED panels, and so on.
    • A huge set of examples for all the above.
    • A "platform" API for you to run the same example code that we have written on AVR, MSP430, and ARM controllers.  We standardized on the Arduino footprint and have sourced a wide range of boards to deploy these examples on.  The platform API implementation provides I2C, SPI etc using CTL that plugs into the device library to enable you to run all these examples.  Like on the Freedom Board, the SolderCore, an Arduino, and many others.

    Very nice additions.

May also ask, and without any guarantees I realize, when will 3.0 be released? Just looking for a ballpark.

Thanks for all your hard work.

We wanted to get the 2.3 software out, refresh the MSP430 and AVR builds, and let the latest compiler bed in before releasing 3.0.  So, maybe a couple of months.

    Hello Paul,

Are there any new nightly builds of 3.0?

    Thanks.

However, I am doing my work on the wavefront at the moment, and will push this to v3 shortly.

    Paul,

What is the current release time frame for Ver 3.0 for ARM? Just ran across your "Big Ticket" and "Technology" items and we are quite interested.

    Cheers!

Some time this month, I hope.  Cortex-A5 is being finalized by Michael, I am on documentation.  The V3 TODO list is now very small.

    Paul,

What's the status on V3 for ARM?

We've completed most of the work.  However, Atmel introduced the SAMA5D3 at just the wrong time, along with Freescale introducing the Vybrid A5 thing and it becoming real.  So, right now, I think Michael is working on that to completion, along with making sure ARM11 is complete on the devices we can debug (right now that's the Raspberry Pi).  So, you can download and try out V3, and I would urge you to do that and report any issues back to us.

Right in the middle of development with 2.3.2 and some tight deadlines. I have V3 downloaded but haven't got around to installing yet. Can they co-exist on the same machine? Can't afford any hiccups on 2.3.2.

They can co-exist; why ask about V3 if you are full-on with 2.3.2?

Issues with our current mass storage and network stacks. You mentioned "Technology Items" in an earlier post as well as extensions to CTL. That peaked my interest and depending on how easily they integrate with CTL it might be worth the extra effort. Currently the 'other' stacks/OS are running in the main CTL task.

I hate to be a bother, but we are now heading into October. Any sign of a V3 release?
