Running an application from Serial Flash

I have a question that seems so simple, I’m ashamed to ask it… 

I have an application running and debugging with CrossConnect JTAG, and now I want to program it into flash so it will run my application from power-up.  How do I do that?   I have a custom board using a SST25VF032B serial flash chip.  I just want the stage 1 bootloader to load my app and run it.  From what I can see, Crossworks has some support for writing into flash by loading an application into RAM that will write to FLASH, but I can’t find much information on how to use it.  It really seems like something a basic tutorial should show me how to do… I’m sure I’m just looking in the wrong place. 

Can anyone please point me in the right direction.

  I forgot to mention I'm using an ATMEL AT91SAM9G45 processor and CrossStudio for ARM Release 2.0.7.2010061501.7937.

  Loading from serial flash is supported on the ATMEL EK boards - but these use an Atmel DataFlash chip. There are some words  in the SAM9 CPU package documentation and project files in the SAM9x-EK board package documentation.
