    To get the Luminary serial port to work on Mac OS X install the Mac OS X VCP drivers from the FTDI website and then add the following lines to the IOKitPersonalities section of /System/Library/Extensions/FTDIUSBSerialDriver.kext/Contents/Info.plist:

                    <key>Luminary Serial 1</key>
                    <dict>
                            <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
                            <string>com.FTDI.driver.FTDIUSBSerialDriver</string>
                            <key>IOClass</key>
                            <string>FTDIUSBSerialDriver</string>
                            <key>IOProviderClass</key>
                            <string>IOUSBInterface</string>
                            <key>bConfigurationValue</key>
                            <integer>1</integer>
                            <key>bInterfaceNumber</key>
                            <integer>1</integer>
                            <key>idProduct</key>
                            <integer>48345</integer>
                            <key>idVendor</key>
                            <integer>1027</integer>
                    </dict>
                    <key>Luminary Serial 2</key>
                    <dict>
                            <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
                            <string>com.FTDI.driver.FTDIUSBSerialDriver</string>
                            <key>IOClass</key>
                            <string>FTDIUSBSerialDriver</string>
                            <key>IOProviderClass</key>
                            <string>IOUSBInterface</string>
                            <key>bConfigurationValue</key>
                            <integer>1</integer>
                            <key>bInterfaceNumber</key>
                            <integer>1</integer>
                            <key>idProduct</key>
                            <integer>48346</integer>
                            <key>idVendor</key>
                            <integer>1027</integer>
                    </dict>

    Then reload the driver by executing 'sudo kextunload -b com.FTDI.driver.FTDIUSBSerialDriver' followed by 'sudo kextload -b com.FTDI.driver.FTDIUSBSerialDriver'.

    Hello.  This may be a resolution to my question posted earlier....

    How to connect to LM3M3748 EVB USB example

    Would someone mind taking a look at it and letting me know if Jon Elliott's reply is also suitable to my posting.  Thanks in advance.

    I also updated the property list on my MacBook.  Using Minicom 2.4, I can now send characters to the TI/Luminary example.  Thanks Jon.  I appreciate your help!
