Yes, I was thinking the same thing. VAssist X is quite awesome. Knowing that you typed in a valid register name / bit name without having to compile is great.

This is called "Semantic Highlighting". I didn't like it at first, but after using Visual Assist X for some time, I've grown to love it. Hopefully it will happen as part of the Code Completion rework.
