...move or copy a solution to a new directory?

FWIW, I would say that deleting the .hzs  file was almost mandatory.

If one doesn't do that, it's quite feasible to open wrong files without realising it, though it's more likely the file simply will not be found.

If one does do that, it seems projects can usually even swap between Windows and Linux just fine, despite the often significantly different path styles.

In the template documentation for various STM things, such as the 32F107 tell us to open a shared solution and then right-click save-as under project explorer. This appears not to copy all of the source files but sometimes links to the read-only template originals. Is this copying a template something which should just be done manually in the filesystem, then?

I have been attempting to construct a single Solution in a *.hzp file from projects located in separate *.hpz files. I have done this both by using cut and paste on the entire project within a solution as well as cut and paste of individual project folders from within the IDE . I have also done whole copies of the Projects using a text editor to merge projects into a single solution. There is some behavior of the IDE that I don't quite understand. I have noted that the *.hps (session file) should be deleted after any such text edits or by copying directories (e.g. using windows explorer).

1.) When I copy and entire project within the IDE using cut and paste, I get a new project presumably identical top the original but the new name is 'Copy of ProjectFOO', and the IDE will not let me change the name. I would like to understand what is going on here. I believe I have gone into the text XML file and successfully directly changed the name of the project to what I like. s this creating an issue.

2.) In the IDE, I attempted to move a folder in a directory structure under a project. When using Cut and Paste on the folder, the resulting folder also indicated a new name 'Copy of FolderFOO' . When I inadvertently moved a folder to the wrong place, and did a second cut and paste the folder that results is 'Copy of Copy of FolderFOO'. Attempts to remove the 'Copy of' from the names in the IDE does not work. I dont know if I'm violating something or not moving folders around in an appropriate way and have found no reference to this behavior.

3.) Ultimately I am trying to avoid having to build separate projects which have many shared files/folders without having to manually duplicate the projects. What is the best recommended procedure for  doing this, including merging projects from different solutions?
