I'm going to install CrossWorks for ARM 1.6, do I have to uninstall the existing version of CrossWorks for ARM I have installed first?

 

No, you don't need to uninstall any previous versions of CrossWorks for ARM - you can have multiple versions of CrossWorks for ARM installed.

  Do you have to do anything special when installing in order to preserve the current version of the IDE, GCC, etc.?

  Never mind... I see that the current installer puts the new version into its own (appropriately named) directory, thereby preserving the current version.
