When adding a project to a solution, offer to create folder

It took me several attempts to add a new project to a solution.

For me (although maybe not everyone), I expect to place the new project in the solution folder and it to go in a folder with the same name as the project.

It appears that what you have to do is create the new, empty folder first, then add a new project and select the new folder. Perhaps I am missing at rick here?
