I have activated CrossWorks on my macOS machine and have been using it for some time but today I upgraded to macOS Sequoia and I am now getting a "No installed licenses..." error. Also, if I request a new activation, the license manager now says "No Ethernet adapter detected on this PC". What could have caused this and how can I fix it?
macOS Sequoia includes a new feature called MAC address randomization which is enabled by default.
Named developer licenses on macOS are locked to MAC addresses so a license will become invalid if it is locked to the Wi-Fi adapter and the MAC address changes.
The randomized MAC addresses are also not eligible as a lock addresses so they will not be listed in the dialog when requesting a new activation.
To disable MAC address randomization:
- Click Apple Menu > System Settings...
- Select the Wi-Fi tab in the sidebar
- Click the Details... button
- Set the Private Wi-Fi address option to Off
- Click OK button to apply the change
Alternatively, use a wired network adapter and lock the license to that when requesting a license activation.
